School Holiday Inspiration

Date Posted:30 March 2018

Sometimes the best ideas can be found in the least likely places! A rummage through your kids’ toy box can reveal all sorts of inspiration. Tap into some of their favourite stuff (eg racing cars, vintage tea sets, dinosaurs and ballet tutus) and find the perfect school holiday activities for your kids.

Thinks that go Vroom! Do you have a car crazy kid in your house? Forever driving vehicles around the dining table or making vroom vroom engine sounds while they zoom round the house? The mini petrol heads in your life will go crazy over a car inspired movie marathon with friends these holiday. We recommend Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Herbie Fully Loaded, Turbo (sure he’s a racing snail) and everyone’s favourite Cars! Get everyone to bring their favourite toy car.

Dance Performance En Pointe! Turn dreams into reality! Dreaming about dazzling costumes, tutus and tiaras while you play, imagine seeing all the beautiful costumes in real life on stage! A trip to the ballet is a life changing experience for all tiny dancers and a wonderful introduction to a world of beauty and make-believe. The best ballets for kids are those based on fairy tales, including The Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Coppelia and The Nutcracker.

Dino Stomp! Do you have someone in your house who knows the names of dozens, if not hundreds of dinosaurs… T-Rex, Stegosaurus, Triceratops, Dimetrodon even the awesome Parasaurolophus? For little dinomaniacs everywhere, help them take a step up from tiny to mega with a trip to your local museum. Get up close and personal with the skeletons and models of these giant animals! Explore how they lived… hear them roar. Dinostastic!

Eggsellent Easter Fun! It is one of the most magical times of the year. Easter is here and the school holidays offer a great opportunity to celebrate all things chocolate and bunny related. Write a special note to the Easter Bunny or make him a special card. On Easter Sunday an Easter Egg Hunt with family and friends is always a winner. And for kids keen to keep the bunny obsession going make sure you catch the brand new Peter Rabbit* film in cinemas now!

*Keep your eyes peeled for the final “toy shop” scene in the film. You might just spot a bunch of Tiger Tribe products.

It’s always Tea Time! What a special occasion! Children delight in throwing their own imaginative tea parties with dolls, teddy bears, and tea sets. But a chance to get dressed up and experience a proper High Tea in a grand setting with delicious sweets to eat… simply marvellous. Many grand hotels and cafes run kid-friendly high teas for boys and girls over the school holidays. A great opportunity to put on some fancy clothes and celebrate family time.
